Last Friday we were having one of our evening motorbike brainstorms, we assess the whole market, costing and what’s hot to trot, it has become more than relevant that people are now asking who will BUY MY BIKE?
Lots of similar companies to us promise heaven and earth when it comes to buying bikes, they promise that they will buy your bike no matter what condition it is in, the truth is, they won’t. 99% of bike purchases in this market are bought with the idea of reselling the bike to a showroom or dealer.
The main idea by using a company like ourselves is to make the sale as simple and easy as possible and not to get ripped off. We hear too often of bike sales going wrong, one of the more popular techniques is to turn up to a viewing and test ride the bike, simply take it for a spin and never return, this happens more you think, we make sure we always send a recognised driver in a van so any bike examinations will be done next to the van, we don’t even request to ride the bike as long as it starts up from cold on the day we will be happy to take it away. We also transfer cash or bank transfer while stood next to the bike, this allows you to logon to online banking and check the cash has hit your account.
Could that be any simpler?
We always go through a full analysis on the phone of every detail on the bike and with this full check, transparency is key as we guarantee to pay the agreed cost is everything matches up.
Buy your bike!
So if you are looking for a reputable company that will not cause hassle, simply arriving at an agreed time and date with cash or a bank transfer then look no further, We Want Your Motorbike is the right company for you.
Another discussion we had in the Friday brainstorm is do people prefer cash or bank transfers, we took a section of our customers from the last 6 months and sent out a poll to see what people preferred, we had some great feedback.
Because we transfer cash via a bacs payment the cash you receive is in your account a few minutes later, this was everyone’s favourite option, the second option of cash was greatly received by those who didn’t want funds transferred into a bank account or who were selling the motorbike to us on a weekend, we always offer cash at the weekend as bacs transfers do not clear until after the weekend. We would hate to leave with a motorbike and the person selling it did not have the funds either in their hands or online bank.
This is a protocol we will not change unless the banks do.
The third brainstorm discussion revolved around the valuation process, we always discuss the current valuation of bikes in the market. You would be amazed if you could see the data we have on this and it would help the right sellers of particular makes of motorbikes sell at the right time to get the biggest value.
Here are the top three motorbikes that sell for the highest value in each month
Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade
Triumph Street Triple
Harley Davidson Sportster
Harley Davidson Sportster
BMW G650 GS
HONDA CBF1000 FA-B
Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa
Kawasaki Versys 1000 KLZ ACF
You can see the data is a bit all over the place but the biggest winner is hands down the Yamaha R1 appearing in 5 out of the 12 months. The above result has come from our own database compared to the previous year. We do have a more detailed list that shows 125s get the best prices from April to August and sports tourers really go up in value October to December.
If your motorbike is listed above please just take this as an educated guide, we sometimes pay higher prices at certain parts of the year but by using this data we can value bikes quicker and more accurately than other motorbike purchasers.
