info@wewantyourmotorbike.com so we can arrange the most convenient time to come and inspect your bike, transfer the money and take it away. We collect from anywhere in mainland UK and we're happy to meet up at your home or another location.
No, feel free to change your mind at any time. We’re motorbike lovers and understand how attached people get to their machines.
- Your motorbike, of course.
- The V5 logbook/registration certificate, which must be in the name of the registered keeper. Sometimes the paperwork is in a seller’s maiden or previous married name. That’s no problem as long as you can show your marriage certificate.
- Two forms of ID. One must be original photo ID such as your passport. The other should be a proof of address item, such as a utility bill or a council tax letter dated within the last 9 months. The name and address on your log book and ID must match.
- Both sets of motorbike keys. If one key is missing, please tell us at the valuation stage or we may have to reduce our offer after the inspection.
- Your bank details. We are keen to pay straight away, but can only transfer the money to an account in the name of the registered keeper.
- Finance settlement letter. If any finance payments are outstanding, we won’t be able to buy your bike without a letter or email from the finance company or lender detailing the settlement figure with a valid until date.
Yes. This is quite normal and not a problem. If any finance payments are outstanding, we won’t be able to buy your bike without a letter or email from the finance company or lender detailing the settlement figure with a valid until date. We’ll pay the finance company direct, deduct the settlement amount from the agreed price and pay you the remainder.
We’ll still buy your bike, as long as you pay us the shortfall by debit or credit card at the time of purchase.
We don’t specialise in private plates, so won’t offer more because your bike has them. But, with that caveat… We’re happy to buy bikes with private plates. We’re also happy if you prefer to keep your private plates. But please note that it’s your responsibility to arrange this with the DVLA before selling the bike to us. They can reassign the plates to a new vehicle, or provide a retention certificate so that the plates can be reassigned later.
No we don’t.
Probably yes. We hold information on all UK motorbikes manufactured since 1982. So if yours isn’t showing up, there are two likely reasons:
- It’s not of UK origin
- It’s over 25 years old
If you type in your registration and your bike isn’t found, call the valuation team on 01625 353 014 or email them at info@wewantyourmotorbike.com. They’ll get right back to your with a valuation.

Yes you can. You’ll need the following documents:
- Original valid photo ID for the registered keeper (a passport or driving licence)
- Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement) for the registered keeper. This must be dated within the last nine months and must match the address on the V5
- Letter or email of authority from the registered keeper, stating that they wish to sell the motorbike and naming you as the person who is bringing the bike for sale and is authorised to conclude the sale
- Proof of and details of the registered keeper’s UK bank account (e.g a bank statement and paying-in book) because the payment can only be paid into the registered keeper’s account
- Photo ID for the person selling the motorbike
Yes, as long as you have the following documents:
- A form of photo identification for the person selling the motorbike
- Letter signed by the company director authorising that person to sell on their behalf
- Company account details e.g. bank paying-in book or company bank statement
- One form of identification for the business address
- Both sets of motorbike keys if available.
- All service history and MOT certificates if available
- V5 logbook/registration certificate registered in the company's name and address
Most take around 30 minutes.
You’ll meet one of our motorbike experts and accompany them to your motorbike for the inspection process. If our expert notices any aspect of the bike’s history or condition that wasn’t apparent at the time of the initial valuation, the price we offer may differ from that valuation. This can include customisations or unusual features. If you’re happy to go ahead with the sale after the inspection, we’ll complete all the paperwork on the spot and arrange to transfer the money in full to your bank account.

We can only guarantee your price for 7 days. The motorbike market changes from day to day, so any valuation older than that is no longer valid. However getting a new up-to-date valuation is quick and easy. Simply enter your reg on the homepage of this website, call
01625 353 014 or email
info@wewantyourmotorbike.comPossibly. If you have any unused months on the vehicle tax when you sell your motorbike, be sure to notify the DVLA and you’ll receive an automatic refund.
Yes, as long as it’s registered in the UK. Please bear in mind that models and specifications vary from country to country, so the price may differ from that of an UK-supplied motorbike.
This is often possible. We understand that it’s a difficult time for everyone and that circumstances vary. So, rather than give firm answers here, we’ll listen and do everything possible to make the process easy, including telling you what documentation you need to satisfy due diligence. For expert advice, call the valuations team on
01625 353 014 or email
info@wewantyourmotorbike.comWe understand that this can often happen and it’s easily solved. Simply show our motorbike expert a proof of address to prove that you once lived at the address on your V5, plus similar proof for your current address.
The rule is that we only buy motorbikes from the person named on the log book/V5. This is necessary to avoid fraud, but we do try to be flexible. If there’s a good reason why you’re selling without being the registered keeper, contact us with full details. We’ll do our best to make it work, including telling you what documentation you need.
No, we only ever buy motorbikes with the correct V5 registration document (log book), but don’t despair if you’ve mislaid yours. Go to the DVLA website and you should be able to get a replacement, although it can take up to week to arrive.
Simply email a list of your bike’s modifications and new features, along with photographs of them, to
info@wewantyourmotorbike.com. All your motorbike’s standard features will be automatically known by our valuation system when you type in your registration.
Our expert will complete the paperwork with you, then arrange to transfer the money straight into your bank account. You’ll see that the payment has been arranged before we load the bike into our van and take it to WWYM’s Cheshire headquarters.
It’s in your own interest to be as accurate as possible. Our motorbike expert will notice any discrepancies during the inspection, and may have to lower the valuation as a result. We pride ourselves on giving a fair market price, but can only work with the information you provide.
Yes, 100% of it – unless our inspection reveals new information that affects the value of the bike. The price we quote after the inspection is the amount we’ll pay if you accept our offer. We are always keen to offer a fair market price, because we want you to be happy with our service. We don’t only want your motorbike now, we also want your motorbike’s in the future.
Simply that our initial valuation is as accurate as possible, but shouldn’t be viewed as a contract. There’s no substitute for an expert inspection, so the valuation we provide after the inspection may be different. But this will only happen if our expert finds an extra feature, customisation or difference in the condition of the bike that was not apparent when we provided the initial valuation. The post-inspection valuation is our final offer. We won’t haggle. If the inspection agrees with the initial valuation, that’s the price we’ll pay.
We can buy motorbikes from the trade. Just enter the bike’s registration on this website’s home page in the usual way. Alternatively, let’s talk. Call the valuation team on
01625 353 014 or email
info@wewantyourmotorbike.comNo we don’t. Your bike needs to be registered in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Yes, as long as your loan provider has released the V5 and you have it with you at your appointment. We will then settle the outstanding loan as part of the transaction.
