Carlisle-Kendall-Whitehaven– You can start this trip from Kendall, pass through Egremont, Cockermouth and reach Carlisle. The road curves around the Lake District National Park, so there is amazing scenery waiting to be seen. If you go back to Kendall from Carlisle, the whole trip covers 292 km. The Golden Lion- the Golden Lion pub in Carlisle is the only dedicated biker bar in Cumbria. Once your eyes get used to the dark interiors of the pub, you can notice the biker memorabilia behind the bar. The owners have also installed a custom motorcycle behind the pool table. Otherwise, the bar has a range of ales, beers, lagers and other spirits. The bar food is also quite delectable.

Filling Station Cafe- The Filling Station Cafe is located in Kenswick which is about 45 minutes from Carlisle. The food is good and the produce is sourced locally. The breakfast is especially recommended. Try the sweet potato fries, they are awesome. There is a lot of parking space so bikes are welcome. The place is famous with bikers who come here in large numbers. Consequently, you will always find some bikers there during working hours.

String of Horses Inn- String of Horses Inn is located in the village of Faugh in Carlisle. This is a biker friendly B&B. The rooms (twin, double and four poster bedrooms) are very comfortable and the food is tasty. Many bikers stop here on their way to or back from further North. The Inn is very close to Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage Site. The restaurant and bar serve Cumberland sausage and local real ales. Note that the food is bit expensive but the service is world class.

Cambro House- Cambro House is a located in Carlisle, just half a mile from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall. The hotel was recently renovated. It is run by David and Alice who are gracious hosts. All the rooms have a flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer and other necessary facilities. You can choose from a single bed, double bed or twin sharing room. Single beds en-suite start from £35.00 per night. Food is also available.

The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel- The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel is located in Langdale Valley in Ambleside. It is located in the center of Lake District, surrounded by mountains and fantastic scenery. Blenkinsopp Caste Inn and Tea Room- Blenkinsopp Castle Inn and Tea Room is a recently renovated hotel overlooking Blenkinsopp Castle. There are just three double rooms in the hotel so please inquire before you go there. Double rooms start from £40.00 per person (single person is £60.00). The hotel is run by Gary and Carol Stirling and they welcome bikers. The bar is traditional with an open fire and wooden beams in the roof. It has a good selection of ales, beers, wines and other spirits. The hotel also cooks up a mean breakfast. The produce is sourced locally and is always fresh.

Cross Keys Inn- Cross Keys Inn is located in Lune Valley, in Penrith. The place is a few minutes away from major roads in the area like Junction 38, M6. It is good stop if you are riding in the Lakes area or the Yorkshire Dales. The place welcomes bikers. The hotel has nine rooms composed of twin rooms, double rooms and garden rooms. All rooms are equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi___33, desk, hair dryer, toiletries and tea and coffee maker. All rooms have a private bathroom.
